I want to do what I want to do!

The Book of 2 Thessalonians is a sobering look into what we can expect before Christ returns. This message was written by the Apostle Paul in response to the report he received from the church in Thessalonica. 

There are some stark warnings in this book, namely:

-Do not be deceived

-The coming of the LORD would come after the revelation of the man of lawlessness

-Many would fall away from the faith and believe lies

-Idleness is a precursor to apostasy

If we look at the letters the Apostle wrote to the churches, they were more than exhortations and instruction. There were many warnings and corrections to falsehoods. 

The Apostle Paul seemed to consistently have to debunk lies and remind the churches of the truth. If we are not under leadership that will confront lies - doctrines of demons - and tell us the truth, we need to run for our dear lives. 

We must pray for Godly leadership and be led by the Holy Spirit because we are in the times Apostle Paul spoke of more now than before. We know that time does not operate the same as it pertains to the Lord Jesus Christ, and GOD Our Heavenly Father because He existed before time was therefore He is not bound by time nor constrained. 

The Holy Spirit shares the same message to all His children, and that message in these last days is to be ready for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. There is nothing more important than this readiness, nor is there anything more dangerous than missing Him. 

We must ALWAYS run anything we hear in our spirits through the filter of GOD’s inerrant Word. We cannot afford to believe what pastors say, or run to and fro from one prophet to another, we must learn His Word for ourselves. Hebrews 1 says “In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. “

My brothers and sisters, I beg with you to stop heaping up on teachers to tell you what you want to hear, running here and there for a “Word” and being carried away with everything you hear. THIS IS NOT HOW THE SPIRIT OF GOD operates! GOD is orderly and will never contradict His Word. 

When we are running here and there and to and fro, seeking validation from mankind we place ourselves against the Spirit of GOD because He does not operate in confusion, being busybodies and idleness. That is the work of Satan, not Christ! Even the Apostle Paul worked with his own hands to take care of his needs. Work is good; it was not a result of the fall or the curse. 

But you will notice that social media has a persistent message that we should stop working and do what we want. Quit your job. Leave your community in need of the gifts GOD has given you, and instead appease yourself. Travel, live in luxury, start getting involved in alternative ways of making money so that you can dictate your own life. 

This is satanic. 

The gifts that GOD has given each of us are not just for ourselves, our churches and families, but also our communities. The selfish mindset of doing what we want is leading many with too much idle time to gossip, meddle in the affairs of others, and flat out defy the Word of GOD. 

Conspiracy theories, following the news and being swayed by any and every lie they tell is a deception. It does not happen overnight, it happens little by little. The answer to this is repentance, and then getting back into the work that GOD ordained you to do. There is nothing shameful about working a 9-5, or being a homemaker who spends time with your children instead of all day on Facebook and reading news stories. 

The antichrist already has an army of people who will believe anything in his agenda, because they are idle and do not know the Word of GOD. I am not speaking of the world, but those who serve and religiously attend church. 

But GOD has his own army and we are busy building the kingdom, building homes and families, serving children and family members, and ensuring that we are in alignment with the Word of GOD so when the Lord Jesus Christ returns we can be ready to go. Because He will come like a thief in the night. 

• Many will be scrolling on social media when He comes. 
• Many will be investigating conspiracy theories when He comes. 
• Many will be arguing heretical doctrines when He comes. 
• Do not be deceived. 

We cannot allow the enemy in even a little bit, because that is all he needs to get a foothold, then a stronghold. 

We are the possession of Jesus Christ, once we have been blood-bought and washed. We signify the death of the old man through baptism and we live a new life when we come up out of the water, just as Christ was resurrected. This resurrection is not for idleness or running here and there to meddle in concerns that have no bearing on us. This resurrection is to a new creation, a new understanding of the meaning of life, and a new path paved by Jesus Christ.

This is why we have the Spirit of Truth, the Holy Spirit, which leads and guides us into all truth. 

Now, I ask you as I ask myself if our daily routines are in alignment with what the LORD has called us to do? Are we spreading the Gospel and being a light to a dark world?



We cannot be a light to the world if we ourselves are walking in darkness, using our mouths for abominable things such as gossip, talebearing, spreading lies and conspiracies. 

We must repent!

Our mouths are for the work of the LORD, not the work of the flesh, or the work of the antichrist. The antichrist spirit opposes all that is holy and righteous according to the Word of GOD. This is not just in manifestation of one person - it is many people, many mindsets.

May the LORD Jesus Christ have mercy on us as His church and allow us more time to ready ourselves for His coming. As a bridegroom coming for His bride, we must be spotless, clean and without blemishes. 

He is not asking us to do anything in our own power, rather to allow the power of the Spirit of GOD to indwell, empower, and guide us. 

Witches and sorcerers will tell you about spirit guides and spirit animals. 

We have a spirit guide called the Holy Spirit, and our spirit animal is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah - Jesus Christ!

Thessalonians chapter 2 goes on to share how those who are into these abominable things will be given a spirit of delusion so that they are led astray and fall away from the faith. Do not be deceived. It is the small things that will make all the difference. 

We are not to have anything to do with idle people. The Apostle Paul said to withdraw from them so they may be ashamed and come to their senses. We can love them from a distance, but not even break bread with them because the spirit they are under is contagious and if we are around it too long, we too can fall victim. 

The LORD Jesus Christ will give us understanding in Jesus name.
