“Come now, let us settle the matter,”
says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool."
ISAIAH 1:18 NIV
There was a certain man that invited all of his fellow friends to a special meeting at his office. In the middle of the conference room where they convened, he placed the latest devices.
As they began to gather, they were unsure of the purpose of their meeting. They thought that the devices on the table were there to show the latest application or invention. He was extremely bright and esteemed among his colleagues.
He walked in the room and exchanged kind words with everyone and thanked them for showing up on such short notice. They all grinned as they felt certain this meeting was going to be another life-altering conference for them to produce something great..and make a lot of money doing it.
"If I were to tell you that these devices did not have a creator, what would you say?"
They all laughed and mocked him within.
"Seriously, what if I tried to convince you that these two devices just appeared here? They just 'accidentally' happened to provide us with the ability to text with others, or keep our schedules in calendars, and provide opportunities for us to connect with people we may never meet in person? There was no designer, software engineer or visionary that brought these devices to the market -- they just appeared?"
You could hear a feather fall to the floor it was so quiet.
"What is your point?" screamed one of his friends from across the room."
We're tired and this is not funny anymore! Any person would know that you were either telling a bad joke, or just plain ignorant!"
You don't have to have the IQ of Einstein to know that this is an absurd statement, and even laughable that he would try to convince others of such a ludicrous argument. So, too is the argument that there is no GOD!
The belief that our world, our cosmos, and we ourselves just appeared without a Creator is pretty far out. Nature is the greatest testifier of our Creator! All around us screams evidence of intelligent design and purposeful creation. It is sin that has severely degraded our environment and causes people to see the obvious yet still reject it.
Colossians 1:16 NIV
For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.
Think of the resources, the minds, the time and energy used in making the smart devices that have become little gods in our lives. Our devices are so much a part of us that Steve Jobs' famous statement that the iPhone was like having our lives in our pockets has come true!
The assertion that there is no GOD is outright debunked before us daily as we open our eyes! It is simply not true.
As I enjoyed a nature walk the other day, there were puddles all over the trail. The canals were overflowing in some areas due to the heavy rain we experienced the night before. You could see earthworms swimming carelessly within the puddles, completely oblivious to the fact that in just a few short hours, the water would recede and dry up, making their temporary paradise, the place of their last breath.
It was amazing to see the earthworms on the side walk.
Earthworms come out of their burrows during the rain so that they can move easily.
What is the point? The point is that deception is always attractive and appears to be an easier path.
To believe that we have no Creator in the face of a sky we cannot measure, oceans we cannot fully understand, cosmos as endless as the numbers associated with Pi is a deception.
But we do not have to be deceived any longer.
Many that say, "There is no GOD," are really angry with Him.
Many that say there is a GOD have the same anger.
Sometimes we cannot understand why things are the way they are.
Why did prayers go unanswered? Why is there pain? Why is there heartache?
These are legitimate questions and there are answers but sometimes we must accept that those answers may never come.
This blog is meant to delve into some of the deeper issues we as women want to avoid discussing and try to ignore, but there are those who desperately desire change and hope.
If this describes you, or someone you know. Please know that this is no accident. The Lord GOD Almighty is extending His hand to us all.
It can only be the pride of life (see 1 John 2:16) that tries to convince us that there is no Creator.
The evidence is all around us as nature screams to all who experience its splendor that indeed there is a GOD. There is someone who envisioned, planned, and completed all that we can see, feel, hear, taste and smell. It is in our nature to search and find a Creator.
But in the place of worshipping Him, we have to ask ourselves if we are worshipping Him or something else?
Some worship themselves, others worship idols such as movie stars, musicians, models.
Romans 1 warns us that worshipping creatures instead of the Creator is why so many are in love with darkness and deeds that are completely unnatural.
Romans 1:18-24
The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.
Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
Let Us Pray!
"Dear GOD give me eyes to see, ears to hear, and a heart to receive understanding of who
You are. I ask you to forgive me of my sins and I accept your Son, Jesus Christ into my heart right now - Amen"
